About Bodyweight Training

How many times have you gone to the gym and watched the same people, doing the same thing, and looking the same way? These people spend hours upon hours on pieces of cardio, do hundreds of crunches, and lift weights for hours. Yet, with all of that, they never get the six pack they want, they never build the arms and chest that they want, and sadly, they just never build the body they are slaving away for.

What Exactly Is Bodyweight Training?

Bodyweight training is all about using your body, your environment, and gravity to build a body you can be proud of. Good bodyweight training routines mix the best techniques and principles from gymnastics, military conditioning, and old school training programs.

Make no mistake about it, just because you aren’t using weights, does not make bodyweight training easy! Don’t think for a minute that just because you can bench press 315 pounds does not mean you cannot find a challenging push ups routine to spice up your training. Bodyweight training can be both the main method of training for you, and it can also be a challenging change or addition to the routine you already use.

The main point is to mix things up, and constantly be looking for a new challenge and taxing your body in different ways. Whether you are just getting started, or you have been training for years, bodyweight training will be a challenging addition to the way you workout!
